From clinical research projects and parental support programmes to palliative care and pain relief: find out how the projects we fund make a difference to the lives of young cancer patients and their families.
How does your donation help?
OHCF raises money to support paediatric (childhood) cancer care and research at Great Ormond Street Hospital and the nearby Institute of Child Health. Our aim is to help specialist centres such as these to offer continued excellence in treating young patients.
The fund has no administrative costs, meaning that every penny of your donation is channelled directly into our projects. Since 1997, OHCF has raised over £2 million supporting over 60 projects, in the following areas:
- Research into new and alternative treatment strategies
- Funding for additional staff, including research assistants and psychologists
- Contributions towards the cost of state-of-the-art equipment
- Programmes that offer practical and emotional support to patients, parents, siblings and staff
The video (originally prepared for Olivia’s Legacy Dinner in 2016) highlights the importance of research into childhood cancer and some examples of recent patient experiences.
The last part of the clip also includes some footage of Olivia.
